Sports Diplomacy in a Divided World, Opportunities and Challenges for Indo-Pak Relations

Sports diplomacy is a soft tactic in promoting harmony in diplomatic relations among states. The study aims to explore the role of sports in shaping Pakistan and India relations and also discusses the efforts made by both nuclear powers in order to restore peace and confidence. Various approaches are used to understand how sports diplomacy can work in improving Indo-Pak relations. Although it is not easy to reunite both nations due to a lack of trust and animosity between them, sports diplomacy carries the potential to foster communication, cooperation, and trust. People-to-people connection through sports can be increased influencing the behavior and perceptions of the masses ultimately resulting in a change in the mindset of decision-makers.
